The Windthorst Trojanettes reached new heights in the 2022-23 campaign, posting a 27-5 overall mark before bowing out to eventual state champion Lipan in the regional quarterfinals. Windthorst limited Lipan for three quarters before the Lady Indians pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service-Archer County is proud to have hosted the When Sean Speaks program on March 7, 8, and 9. When Sean Speaks is a powerful, real life story about the consequences of riding with a drunk driver and was recently presented to Holliday High School, Holliday Middle School, Archer City ISD (712 grades) and Windthorst ISD.

Larson Vieth is the President of the Windthorst 4-H Club. He is active in showing Dairy Holsteins, competes in Dairy Judging and does community service in his community and for different groups. He is a senior at Windthorst High School and will be attending TSTC in Waco in the fall to pursue a degree in Electrical and Solar Energy hoping to use his work in the agriculture field. In school, he is active in football, FFA, 4-H, St. Mary's Youth Group, and his church. He currently works for Community Telephone Company/ Comcell in Windthorst and also is basketball referee for the Texas Association Sports Officials- Northwest Chapter. County purchases lighting for show barn

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court approved an expenditure of up to $4,500 to install additional lighting around the Archer County Show Barn during its meeting on Monday, March 13. Archer County Junior Livestock Show Board Treasurer Levi Buerger presented the lighting the board had recommended for the show barn to the commissioners.

April is Chi ld Abuse Awareness Month

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court proclaimed April as National Child Abuse Awareness Month in Archer County during its meeting on Monday, March 13. According to the proclamation, in 2021 3.9 million reports were made to child protective services.
