After a fiery school board meeting on May 10, the Windthorst ISD administration released a statement regarding a controversial feminism excerpt giving to junior high students. A group of parents came to the May 10 meeting to voice their concerns with the excerpt their children read in a benchmark test.
Archer City (17-7) hung a crooked number on the scoreboard in five of the 12 innings played on Friday night in Bowie to sweep Poolville in the bi-district series, 10-0 and 11-3. “That was probably one of the cleaner, most locked-in five inning wins we’ve had all year,” Archer City head coach Zac Dunnam said.
Holliday (28-4) got a pair of two-hit shutouts from Peyton Marchand and Cooper Turner to blank Peaster in a bi-district sweep on Friday, May 6, 12-0 and 3-0. Marchand (7-0) struck out 11 while Turner (7-2) punched out 14 to give both players the win.
