Lakeside City discusses banking issues

The city of Lakeside City was informed by Texoma Community Credit Union that it is unable to fully service the city’s need as laid out in its bid process. During the July 22 council meeting, City Administrator Cory Aspinwall said the city closed out all accounts except for one with its previous institution.

Anderle appointed to JNB board

Craig Anderle has been appointed to serve as an Advisory Director on the Board of Directors at Jacksboro National Bank. Craig grew up in Windthorst, graduated from Windthorst High School, and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in accounting from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX.

Two-a-days start fall sports

The 2025-2026 high school sports season has officially begun as the volleyball and football teams from all three schools in the county began their yearly two-a-days practices on Monday, Aug. 4.

Softball, Baseball All-State Honors

With successful seasons from the three county high school teams in baseball and softball, All-State nominations are expected to follow. A total of eight county athletes received All-State recognition, three more than last season, showing off the amount of talent in Archer County.
