The Archer City council approved the city’s tax rate and budget for the upcoming fiscal year during its council meeting on Thursday, Sept. 21.

Judge Randy Jackson of Archer County has been elected as Vice-Chair of Nortex Regional Planning Commission for the next year. The Executive Committee of Nortex Regional Planning Commission elected Judge Jackson at its regular monthly Board meeting in September to serve in this capacity for the Commission.

The Archer City Elementary School Book Buddy Program is looking for volunteers to take 30 minutes a week to help with the development and growth of an elementary student. The book buddy program was started in 2016 by Vicki Davis and Jessica Deerinwater.
