County purchases lighting for show barn

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court approved an expenditure of up to $4,500 to install additional lighting around the Archer County Show Barn during its meeting on Monday, March 13. The Archer County Commissioner’s Court proclaimed April as National Child Abuse Awareness Month in Archer County during its meeting on Monday, March 13. According to the proclamation, in 2021 3.9 million reports were made to child protective services.

Holliday Council names trash provider

Sex offender sentenced to 40 years in prison

Another Archer County sex offender is behind bars after entering a guilty plea to multiple counts of child sexual abuse on Monday, March. Jorge Estrada was sentenced to 40 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 years of age, and 20 years confinement for one count of sexual assault of a child and three counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, respectively.
