Holliday UIL finishes third

Body The Holliday ISD UIL Academic Team placed third in the 3A state meet competition. The Holliday team finished third with 88 points behind Gladewater Sabine who finished with 134.33 points and Mission Collegiate who finished with 108.5 points.

Archer City Pool Splash Day

Body The Archer City Pool will open for the summer on Saturday, May 25, from 1 to 6 p.m. Splash day will take place that day and admission will be free to the public.

Windthorst City Council holds meeting about U.S. 281

Body On Wednesday, May 15, the Windthorst City Council held a special meeting for citizens to voice their concerns and ask questions to a Texas Department of Transportation employee on how the agency plans to make Highway 281 safer in general.

Kellar named new County Auditor

Body Cristi Kellar was sworn in as the new Archer County Auditor by 97th District Court Judge Trish Coleman Byars on Wednesday, May 1. Kellar replaces outgoing county auditor Paul Wylie who retired from the position at the end of April.
