The sale of malt beverages and wine for off-premises consumption only in the city of Holliday and a $33 million bond election for Olney Hamilton Hospital were approved by voters in Archer County on Nov. 7.

They saved the best for last. Marching as the last band in finals at the Class 3A UIL State Marching Contest, the Holliday Eagle Band left it all on the field.

The The City of Holliday city council met in a scheduled meeting on Mon., Nov. 13, and approved the sale of malt beverages within the city limits.

The Texasville Opry hits the stage of the Royal Theater this Saturday night, Nov. 18, with “The Country Christmas-Gospel- Patriotic s Show,” which closes out its 23rd year of Opry performances/ “Folks love the Christmas, Gospel, Patriotic show because we've got another sellout,” said Gary Beesinger, producer and emcee.

The trophy case in Holliday is going to need a little more room. The Lady Eagles brought home their fifth state championship and third in the last five seasons, winning the Class 3A crown by 80 points.
