Windthorst Elementary School Principal Ashley Schroeder presented her plans for improvements for the campus to the Windthorst ISD School Board during its meeting on Monday, Oct. 14.

Two Archer City men are in the Archer County Jail following a pair of burglaries in the previous week. Wyatt Austin Webb, 32, and Zachary James Howard, 28, were charged with two counts of burglary of a building after Archer Supply and the Archer City Country Club were burglarized last week.

The cities of Archer City, Holliday, Lakeside City, Megargel, Scotland and Windthorst saw an increase in sales tax rebates in September than they did in the same time frame in 2023. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for September, 6.3 percent more than in September 2023.

Archer County. its cities and school districts have adopted their tax rates for 2024.
