Archer County Judge Randy Jackson declared a county-wide emergency burn ban on Wednesday, March 12, that will be in place for 10 days until March 22. The ban can be rescinded at an earlier date based on the determination of the Commissioner’s Court or County Judge.

The Lakeside City Council heard a presentation on the state of the city’s roads and how to improve them during its council meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Time is running out for those interested in being a city council or school board member to get their names on the ballot. The filing period to be on a city council or school board ballot for the May 4 Uniform Election opened Jan.
