The Archer County Commissioners voted to put restrictions on fireworks in the county from Dec. 20 through Jan.

For just the second time in history, Archer City (6-3) and Windthorst (10-1) are set to meet in the postseason. The two Archer County rivals meet in Graham on Friday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. with a trip to the Region II-2A Semifinals on the line.

Bree Zellers was nearly unstoppable, collecting a team-high 15 kills as the Holliday Lady Eagles upset No. 9 Brownfield in a 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-20, 25-22) on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Jim Ned High School in Tuscola.

“Bree was on-fire,” Holliday head coach Wendy Parker said. “She missed a few serves, but as far as everything else, she was lights out.”

The No. 7 Lady Eagles (24-4) meet top-ranked Bushland (27-2) in the regional finals on Saturday, Nov. 14, in Childress at 5:30.

Archer County had a historic turnout to the polls for the Nov. 3 General Election with 4,820 or 75.36% of registered voters participating.
