Father Michael McGivney, the founder of the Knights of Columbus, will be beatified during a special Mass at 10 a.m Oct. 31.

Archer County Elections Administrator Christie Mooney reported 1,788, or 24%, registered voters have early voted in the Nov. 3 General Election through Monday, Oct.

Archer County Judge Randy Jackson announced the county had 106 positive cases with five of them being active as of Tuesday, Oct 20. The county also has reported one COVID-19 related fatality.

As just about everyone expected, the District 9-2A clash between Archer City and Windthorst lived up to the hype. In a showdown of the district’s top two squads, the Lady Cats (14-4, 7-0) outlasted the Trojanettes (8-13, 4-1) in a five-set thriller, 3-2 (25-23, 14-25, 21-25, 25-17, 15-10) on Tuesday, Oct. 13, in Archer City.

The Lady Cats pushed their winning streak to double-digits while snapping the Trojanettes six-match run. Both teams have two more matches before a rematch on Saturday, Oct. 24, in the regular season finale.
