Holliday’s winning ways continued with both the boys and girls cross country teams winning the Region I-3A championships on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock. In addition to both teams winning the event, the Eagles and Lady Eagles took home the top-individual champion as Jaycee Lyons and Noah Strohman continued their reign of dominance.

Holliday completed a perfect run through District 7-3A, collecting sweep after sweep after sweep. It’s been over two months since the Lady Eagles dropped a set, dating back 18 matches to an Aug. 27 meeting against Caprock. During their 30-match winning streak, the Lady Eagles have outscored their opposition 791.

Holliday threw just one pass as the Eagles rushed for 512 yards on 43 carries in a 61-0 rout of S&S Consolidated on Friday, Nov. 21. The second-ranked Eagles (8-0) secured a playoff berth with the lopsided win and remain on-pace for the top overall seed with Callisburg.

The Holliday defense forced five turnovers while the offense overcame three interceptions and several fumbled snaps to pull away late from Henrietta, 41-14. The second-ranked Eagles (7-0) remain unbeaten with three games to play in the regular season.
