The Sheriff’s Office received 204 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 35 inmates 7 being female in the Archer County Jail.

This is a reprint from March 3/21/21. Time is purely an invention of man. No other creature is known to go by our mathematics. Not being an exact science we must have a leap year every four years so that our one year revolution around the sun can get caught up since that revolution does not work exactly with our 24 hour days. And so it begins… A month is based on moon cycles yet the different months have different amounts of days. Some 30, some 31, then poor February has only 28.

We gave it our all but came up short in the election for Archer County Attorney. Tuesday night, the Archer County Elections Administration informed me that I did not secure enough votes to win the election for Archer County Attorney. The Archer County elections officials have my complete confidence in the handling of the election.

The Archer Public Library is excited to announce an update to the e-book services provided through the E-Read Texas Program at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. Starting October 1st, we will transition from the e-book platform SimplyE to the new e-book platform Boundless. This change will not affect Libby. Boundless offers many new features, including reading achievement badges, larger checkout limits, and social sharing features. With Boundless and Libby, library patrons can check out e-books and audiobooks for free, enabling them to enjoy the library on the go, adjust the font size of their favorite books with a touch, or listen to books while multitasking.
