The Scotland- Windthorst Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2676 and Auxiliary recognized the winners of their annual patriotic Voice of Democracy (VOD) audio- essay and Patriot's Pen (PP) essay contests along with Teacher of the Year recipients at an awards ceremony held Monday, Dec.11, at the Windthorst Knights of Columbus Hall.

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation announced it has awarded a $42,100 grant to Bowman Volunteer Fire Department to ensure its first responders have the necessary equipment to keep community members and themselves safe. The grant will be used to purchase battery powered extrication tools, fulfilling a critical need within the department.
