The Archer County Commissioner’s Court voted to pay the backpay, benefits and the court cost and fees for the appeal to Constable Pct. 2 Donald Stevens as laid out in a 2nd Court of Appeals judgement relating to Stevens’ removal from office in June.

The cities of Holliday, Lakeside City, Megargel and Windthorst saw an increase in sales tax in January than they did in the same time frame in 2022. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced on Jan.11 he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.07 billion in local sales tax allocations for January, 7.6% more than in January 2022.
