The Archer County Commissioner’s Court approved a substantial number of contracts and orders to get the joint March primaries ready during its meeting on Monday, Jan. 8.
The Windthorst Trojans travelled to Perrin, Texas to take on the Class 1A fifth ranked Perrin-Whitt Pirates on Thursday, Jan 4. Despite some back and forth early in the contest, the Pirates put up an insurmountable lead, defeating the Trojans 78-48.
The Archer City Lady Cats trekked to Windthorst to face the Trojanettes in the first district game for both teams on Friday, Jan. 5. The Trojanettes smothered the young Lady Cats, causing turnovers and scoring fast-breaks, leading to a dominant 71-33 lead.
5. Belcher records win No. 500 Windthorst head baseball coach Scott Belcher recorded career win No. 500 following a 4-2 win over Seymour on April 29 – a day in which the Trojans paid tribute to school board member Brad Wolf who unexpectedly passed away in early March.
The Archer City Wildcats hosted the Chico Dragons on Friday, Jan 5. The Wildcats shot lightsout, scoring their second most points in a game for the season and handedly defeating the Dragons 72-36.
