USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) reminds drought-impacted producers that they may be eligible for financial assistance through the Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honey Bees, and Farm-Raised Fish Program (ELAP) to cover above normal expenses for hauling water or feed to livestock or hauling livestock to forage or grazing acres.

The Archer City council voted to move forward with a zoning request which allows 4C Wild Game Processing to become a custom exempt slaughterhouse at 711 N. Center St in town during its meeting Thursday, July 21.

The Archer City council created and seated an ambulance advisory board committee during its meeting Thursday, July 21. Creating and seating the ambulance advisory board came as a result of multiple discussions in recent meetings regarding staffing and budgeting concerns for the Archer City Ambulance service.

97th court district attorney Casey Hall presented a request for an increase in her budget to allow for access to new software during the Archer County Commissioners Court meeting on Monday, July 25. Hall said her chief investigator Chris Hamilton began looking into the software for cell phone downloads for investigation several months ago.

An elderly man accidently drove his truck through the Holliday post office on Wednesday, July 20. A man inside the post office was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The post office remained open despite the damages. Photos/Grace Rees
