Holliday mourns loss of police chief

The city of Holliday, Holliday Police Department and Archer County communities are mourning the loss of police chief Joe Chunn after he passed away on Wednesday, April 27. Chunn went to work for the Holliday Police Department in May of 1994.

Bates awarded Meador Scholarship

Archer City Senior Ty Bates was presented with the Marlon Meador Memorial Scholarship at the ACHS auditorium Sunday. Coach Terry Wolf presented the scholarship. Wolf taught Bates parents, Gary and Gretchen. Friday, April 22 Archer City 18, Quanah 0 Archer City (13-6) clobbered Quanah 18-0 to secure at least a share of the District 9-2A crown. Ty Bates powered the Wildcats, going 3-for-3 with a homer, double, three runs scored and three RBI.
