A Scotland man was arrested for multiple felonies including indecency with a child, sexual assault of a child and online solicitation of a minor in October. According to Archer County arrest warrants, Jorge Estrada, 50, was initially arrested on Oct.

Archer County approves redistricting of precincts

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court approved redistricting of the county’s precincts which will take effect immediately for voting purposes and starting on Jan. 1, 2023 for road maintenance issues during its meeting Monday, Nov. 8.

The Holliday Eagle Band finished sixth at the UIL 3A State Marching Competition after two strong performances at the Alamodome Wednesday, Nov. 3.
County rolls on to Area

All three county high schools breezed through the bi-district round as Archer City, Holliday and Windthorst punched tickets to Area.
The Lady Cats (29-11) play tonight at 6:30 against Moody (30-5) in Godley.
Windthorst (27-13) plays Crawford (39-7) tomorrow at 6 p.m. in Aledo.
Holliday (37-5) meets Wall (33-10) at noon on Saturday at Cisco College.

It is hard to believe that we are now in the month of November! After Halloween, it feels as if time goes by faster, with the coming of Thanksgiving, Advent, and Christmas. The busyness of this season is wonderful and festive. At the same time, we are called by God to slow down and keep our focus on God in all that we do.
