The Windthorst Spartans Football team played their first game of the season on Sept. 4 at City View. The Spartans won 30-6 and are 1-0 on the young season. Karson Teakell, Gunner Wyrick, and Mason Stark all caught touchdown passes from Stony Belz. Belz also scored a defensive touchdown on a fumble recovery. Eli Frank, Barrett Wolf, and Belz also scored twopoint conversions. On defense, Colton Berend, and Kastin Wolf led the way and kept the Mustangs scoreless until three minutes left in the game.

In thirty years of being in the ministry, I have seen the best of life and the worst of life. We all have perspectives that have been shaped by the things that we have experienced. Every person has the possibility of doing some good things or some really bad things in life. It's important that we take time to step back from the negativity and regain a right way of thinking. We have to slow down and consider our priorities.

ACISD teacher placed on leave

Archer City ISD announced on Monday that it was placing a teacher/ coach on administrative leave after it was notified of inappropriate communications between the teacher and high school students on Saturday, Sept. 16.

McNair sentenced to 160 years

An Archer County man was sentenced to 160 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple child sex crimes in August. The trial began on Tuesday, Aug 19, and after a week of trial the jury found McNair guilty on all six counts, five indecencies with a child with sexual contact and one aggravated sexual assault of a child.
