With the city of Holliday approving its tax rate on Monday, Sept. 29, Archer County, its cities and school districts have adopted their tax rates for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. Below is a recap of each.

Sales Tax revenue drops for September

Nearly every Archer County city saw a decrease in sales tax revenue in September than they did in September of 2024. However, nearly every Archer County city tax revenue remains higher than the previous year.

DSHS offers free flu immunizations

The Texas Department of State Health Services has no charge flu immunizations available for eligible children and adults. Flu and back-to-school immunizations are available by appointment.

Trojans bounce back against Alvord

The Trojans bounced back in a big way on Friday, Sept. 19. After a 53-13 loss to Muenster a week prior, Windthorst whipped the Alvord Bulldogs 42-23 at home. 14 of the Bulldogs’ points came in the fourth quarter, when they were down 42-9.
