Archer County Volunteer Fire Departments have been extremely busy fighting grass fire across the region during the week as a heat wave continues to dry out vegetation. According to Archer County Emergency Management Coordinator Shane Wright, the volunteer fire departments responded to 24 fires in a period between Aug.

The Holliday ISD campus was cleared after a bomb threat was made by around noon., Thursday, Aug. 10. Corby Wayne Sissom, 56, has been charged with Terroristic Threat and Retaliation. There is believed to be no threat to the school.
