Authors Jim Black and Jim Lewis will be selling and signing copies of their latest book, Ezra, this Saturday, July 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Spur Hotel in Archer City.
The Archer City and surrounding area communities gathered to host a tractor rally in a celebration of life for Keller Spade Garrett on Saturday, July 15. Garrett, a six-year-old of Archer City, died as a result of his injuries two days after a single vehicle wreck at South Rose Street and East South Street on Sunday, July 9.
Archer City’s City Manager George Huffman announced his intention to retire from his position in January of 2024 during the Archer City Council meeting on Thursday, July 13. The city manager came to work for the city in October 2010 and will call it a career shortly after 13 years on the job.
The Archer City Council voted to surrender the city’s Department of State Health EMS provider license to the state during its council meeting on Thursday, July 13. City Manager George Huffman said the city received an email from DSHS asking for the city to surrender the license or be prepared for an ambulance inspection.
The Archer City Council approved paying $347,000 from the city’s reserves to go towards a waterline replacement project on Plum and Oak streets during its council meeting on Thursday, July 13. The waterline project will run from Vine Street to Oak Street on Plum Street and then from Plum Street to Evergreen Street on Oak Street.
