Jesus Christ is Lord

Body
“Jesus Christ is Lord” was the earliest affirmation of faith. When those first-century Christians said Jesus was Lord, they were doing more than using the title as a term of respect; they were acknowledging the sovereignty of Christ over their lives. And that is the importance of what Jesus says in Matthew 7:21 – “Not every person who calls me ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do what the Father in heaven wants them to do.” Discipleship is not a matter of accepting a creed but of doing God’s will.
