Through mid-afternoon Tuesday, May 2, 577 voters had participated in early voting for the May 6 General Election. Voters who live in the Archer City ISD district, city of Holliday, Holliday ISD district, city of Megargel, city of Windthorst and Windthorst ISD district will be voting on naming representatives to the school boards and city councils respectively.

Archer City High School Principal Dr. John Sherrill is among the 50 school leaders from across Texas selected as the 2023 cohort of educators to attend summer institutes at the Principals’ Center at the Harvard Graduate School of Education sponsored by the Charles Butt Foundation, a non-profit pursuing a more equitable and prosperous future for all Texans through education and community partnerships.

The Holliday High School Culinary Program spent time on Thursday, April 27, to cook a meal of hamburgers, potato salad and fruit salad for the Holliday Senior Service Center and Meals on Wheels. Mandy Sneed, Kitchen Manager for the Holliday Senior Service Center, said the additional help for this meal came at a good time as her helper position is currently vacant leaving her to run the kitchen by herself.

Archer City 4-H Hannah Krenek Treasurer Hello! My name is Hannah Krenek and I am the Archer City 4-H Club Treasurer. Over the past few years I have really enjoyed getting more involved in 4-H through showing rabbits, community service projects and competing in multiple Food and Nutrition Events: Food Challenge, Food Show, Ag Product ID and Meat Judging.

Through the years, there have been times that a church member has commented to me about my sermon: “You were preaching right at me today.” I have usually followed up with the comment: “That Bible passage has been preaching to me all week as I prepared the message.” It was certainly true as I prepared to speak on 1 Corinthians 10:31 – “So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
