Early voting comes to end for May election

Through mid-afternoon Tuesday, May 2, 577 voters had participated in early voting for the May 6 General Election. Voters who live in the Archer City ISD district, city of Holliday, Holliday ISD district, city of Megargel, city of Windthorst and Windthorst ISD district will be voting on naming representatives to the school boards and city councils respectively.

Holliday High School culinary program cooks for service center

The Holliday High School Culinary Program spent time on Thursday, April 27, to cook a meal of hamburgers, potato salad and fruit salad for the Holliday Senior Service Center and Meals on Wheels. Mandy Sneed, Kitchen Manager for the Holliday Senior Service Center, said the additional help for this meal came at a good time as her helper position is currently vacant leaving her to run the kitchen by herself.

Hotsuliak accepted to Harvard program

Archer City ISD’s Iryna “Ira” Hotsuliak has been accepted to Harvard University’s The Academies on Campus – PreMed Foundations of Biology and Chemistry Academy and funds are being raised to send her to the academy. Hotsuliak is a transfer student from Ukraine who was unable to return home after the Russian Invasion of her home country.

Through the years, there have been times that a church member has commented to me about my sermon: “You were preaching right at me today.” I have usually followed up with the comment: “That Bible passage has been preaching to me all week as I prepared the message.” It was certainly true as I prepared to speak on 1 Corinthians 10:31 – “So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
