The annual City Wide Clean Up for the City of Archer City is scheduled for Monday, April 18 through Sunday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily with the exception of Sunday, April 24, when the hours will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Welcome to Archer City monuments were installed in the fall of 2012 at the north and east entries to town. The design received mixed reviews since they were installed. Unfortunately many of the comments were not positive. The Archer City Growth and Development Board has been working on replacement monuments for quite a while.

The Lakeside City Community Center and Fire Department and its builder M & F Litteken Company were inducted into the 2022 Varco Pruden Builders Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame contest showcases the best buildings from Varco Pruden Builders on an annual basis.

The Archer County Commissioners voted to extend the county’s burn ban until May 1 during a special called meeting Friday, April 1. After a thunderstorm hit the county April 4, County Judge Randy Jackson rescinded the order on Tuesday, April 5.
