Lakeside City council approves work to start on new east side park

The city council of Lakeside City agreed to make a payment to Longo Landscape and Stone for $36,932.50 to begin work on a new park for the east side of the town during its meeting Tuesday, April 19. This money spent will create a pavilion with seating, parking spaces and a place to set playground equipment on the city owned lots at the intersection of Billie Joyce and Jo Ann.

ACMAC to host first exhibit, movie nights

The Archer County Museum and Arts Center put up a fence exhibition around its property on Thursday, April 21, while the three-story 1910 jail remains closed to the public. This exhibit shares the stories of a world saddle bronc champion, hotel owner, rare sheep breed er, a tree to mark water and more, all from Archer County.

WISD approves pay changes for staff

The Windthorst ISD School Board approved a new compensation plan for the district following executive session in its board meeting Monday, April 11. The new compensation plan includes a 3% raise for all teachers and professional staff, a 3-5% raise for auxiliary staff, increasing stipends to the market rate, addition of new stipends for added programs and an end of the year stipend for all employees.
