Rees takes over as Archer County News' Creative Director

Body The Archer County News welcomed new Creative Director Grace Rees at the start of February as she helped transition out and replace outgoing director Jenny Schroeder. Rees is a Wichita Falls native who attended Notre Dame Catholic School before finishing high school in Iowa Park.

City Wide Clean Up Scheduled for Archer City

Body The annual City Wide Clean Up for the City of Archer City is scheduled for Monday, April 18 through Sunday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily with the exception of Sunday, April 24, when the hours will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

New Archer City entry monuments honor McMurtry

Body Welcome to Archer City monuments were installed in the fall of 2012 at the north and east entries to town. The design received mixed reviews since they were installed. Unfortunately many of the comments were not positive.

County extends, then rescinds burn ban

Body The Archer County Commissioners voted to extend the county’s burn ban until May 1 during a special called meeting Friday, April 1. After a thunderstorm hit the county April 4, County Judge Randy Jackson rescinded the order on Tuesday, April 5.
