After the Times Record News announced it would be closing its printing operations at the end of April, the Archer County News has made the decision to have its paper printed with the Hood County News in Granbury starting April 20.

The Archer County News recently said farewell to its bookkeeper and office manager, Misty Cameron, in the month of March. Cameron was born in Canadian before moving to Archer City at the start of the second grade.

The Archer County News welcomed new Creative Director Grace Rees at the start of February as she helped transition out and replace outgoing director Jenny Schroeder. Rees is a Wichita Falls native who attended Notre Dame Catholic School before finishing high school in Iowa Park.

Judy Bugher and Edna Manning, Co-Owners of Hayhook Ranch in Lexington, Okla., have not let their age or previous accomplishments prevent them from growing a reputable brand in the limflex and limousin cattle business.

The annual City Wide Clean Up for the City of Archer City is scheduled for Monday, April 18 through Sunday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily with the exception of Sunday, April 24, when the hours will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Welcome to Archer City monuments were installed in the fall of 2012 at the north and east entries to town. The design received mixed reviews since they were installed. Unfortunately many of the comments were not positive.

The Lakeside City Community Center and Fire Department and its builder M & F Litteken Company were inducted into the 2022 Varco Pruden Builders Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame contest showcases the best buildings from Varco Pruden Builders on an annual basis.

The Archer County Commissioners voted to extend the county’s burn ban until May 1 during a special called meeting Friday, April 1. After a thunderstorm hit the county April 4, County Judge Randy Jackson rescinded the order on Tuesday, April 5.
