Holliday (25-5, 3-0) made quick work of Jacksboro and City View in the second week of District 7-3A play. The Lady Eagles ran their winning streak to six following Friday night’s win over the Lady Mustangs. In those six matches, Holliday has won 18-straight sets.

Archer City (1-1) certainly had its chances to knock off Henrietta, even without the services of Ty Bates at quarterback. Early turnovers, costly penalties and misfirings on offense allowed the Bearcats to pull away from the Wildcats 43- 28 on Friday, Sept. 17.

Parkeys perform well at West Texas Fair and Rodeo

Isabelle and Whit Parkey competed at the West Texas Fair and Rodeo in Abilene. Isabelle brought home a 5th place with her Polled Hereford heifer, 3rd place with her Limousin heifer and 3rd place with her Brangus heifer. She also won JR Showmanship in both the Hereford and Brangus show. Whit earned 1st place with his Brangus heifer.

As expected, the Holliday Lady Eagles cross country team has been dominant on the young season. Archer City and Windthorst have had strong showings at the local cross country meets.

Trojanettes earn split against Iowa Park, Christ Academy

Windthorst (16-10) split a pair of four-set affairs last week, falling to Iowa Park (25-20, 15-25, 25-21, 27-25) on Tuesday before downing Christ Academy (25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 29-27) on Saturday. In the loss to the Lady Hawks, sophomore Rylee Wolf logged a triple-double with 12 kills, 15 digs and 20 assists to lead the Trojanettes.
