The 7th Grade Spartans ended their game with the Iowa Park Hawks in a tie, 16-16. Brock Belcher led the Spartans offensively, tossing two touchdown passes, one to Braiden Messineo and the other to Brodie Belz. Defensive Standouts were Hayden Cavazos and Riley Hoffman. The Spartans will play the Petrolia Pirates on Tuesday, October 26th.

Holliday rumbles over Nocona 62-14

Hanna collects win No. 100 as Wildcats roll Electra

Archer City senior quarterback Ty Bates tossed four touchdown passes as the Wildcats (4-2, 2-0) helped head coach Shad Hanna achieve his 100th win in a 43-7 rout of Electra (2-4, 0-2). Hanna collected 41 wins at Midland Greenwood, 31 wins at Alpine and 28 with the Wildcats for his coaching career.

The winning streak is over. Muenster put an end to Windthorst’s 16-game winning streak by winning a defensive slugfest 16-8. The Hornets (8-0, 2-0) are in the driver’s seat of the District 7-2A race while the Trojans (6-1, 0-1) need to regroup with Chico and Petrolia on deck in the next two weeks.

The Archer City combined junior high squad executed a dramatic finish for a 30-26 win over Electra on Thursday. Billy Booher returned a kickoff to midfield before long catches by Parker Hilbers and Gideon Towner moved the Wildcats down the field. Booher scored the game-winning touchdown with 0.3 seconds remaining. Defensive standouts included Jhett Miller, Ian Graves, Steve Monroy and Gavin Hulse.

Stark inducted to UT Hall of Honor

The University of Texas inducted Windthorst legend Heather Stark into its Hall of Honor this past Saturday. Formerly Heather Schreiber, Stark helped turn girls athletics into the powerhouse it is today for the Trojanettes.
