The state champion Windthorst Trojans football team is raising money for rings and a new monument commemorating the school’s third football title. According to head coach Chris Tackett, the main goal of the fundraiser is to pay for as much of the student’s ring as possible.

Windthorst defensive coordinator Juan Cavazos garnered the Dairy Max Built by Nature Assistant Coach of the Year announced last Friday by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. Not only was Cavazos the top assistant in Class 2A, he received this honor spanning all six UIL classifications.

The Class 2A-DII schools in Archer County were well represented on the Padilla Poll allstate team. The state champion Windthorst Trojans took home the top two superlative awards as well as filled nine first team slots with six players.
