Lady Eagles go the distance against Memorial

The Lady Eagles faced off in a five-set slugfest against the Wichita Falls Memorial Lady Mavericks on Friday, Sept. 6 After dropping the first set 16-25, Holliday soared back with a 25-20 victory. The Lady Mavericks marked another set win with a 19-25 victory. The Lady Eagles bounced back in set four with a 25-16 win, tying up the sets. But Memorial was able to outlast Holliday, securing the 15-9 fifth-set win.

8th Grade Report Bowie 34 Windthorst 22 The eighth grade Windthorst Spartans lost to Bowie 22-34 in their first game of the season. The Spartans scored through the air with three touchdown passes from Memphis Neal to Koby Talley, Aidan Teague, and Carter Byars.

Lady Hornets sting Archer City

The Lady Cats took on the Class 1A #3 ranked Harrold Lady Hornets on Tuesday, Sept. 3. These two teams faced off once this season, in the Cool in Boomtown volleyball tournament in Burkburnett on Friday, Aug. 16, with the Lady Hornets sweeping Archer City 2-0 in the tournament. For their second matchup, the Lady Cats travelled to Harrold with hopes to avenge their loss from a month prior.

The Archer City Lady Cats hosted the Class 3A Jacksboro Tigerettes in volleyball action on Tuesday, Aug. 27. Coming off a lessthan desirable showing at the Lu Allen volleyball tournament in Graham just a few days prior, Coach Krissa England and her young Lady Cat squad looked to bounce back in a big way versus the Tigerettes.

Wildcats win road war with Indians

The Archer City Wildcat bussed west for the team’s season-opener on the gridiron, facing off against the Quanah Indians on Friday, Aug. 30. Last season, the Wildcats battered the Indians 44-8, and looked to once against kickoff the season with a dominant win.
