Body It was a great day to be in blue at the Region II- 2A Track Meet on April 28-29 as Windthorst saw five advance to the 2023 UIL Track & Field State Meet.

Body Lindsay didn’t play as a typical No. 4 seed facing off against a heavy favorite in a bi-district series. Windthorst weathered the storm – both literally and figuratively – in its first round sweep of the Lady Knights.

Body Holliday breezed through its bi-district series against Breckenridge, sweeping the Lady Bucks 9-0 and 16-0, to set up a rematch of last year’s regional finals in the area round against Coahoma. The Lady Eagles and Bulldogettes meet in a one-game, winner-takeall matchup on Thurs.

Body Fri., April 21 Windthorst 17, Archer City 1 Windthorst (21-6) completed the season sweep of Archer City (1118) with a 17-1 run-rule win over the Lady Cats.

Body The Holliday Lady Eagles nearly doubled up second- place Brock to win the District 7/8-3A Area track meet on Thurs., April 20, in Jacksboro. Holliday finished with 147 points topping Brock’s 79 by 68 points while sending 11 athletes to the regional meet.

Body Fri., April 21 Holliday 7, Iowa Park 1 Holliday (24-4) added two runs apiece in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to blow open a 1-0 lead against Iowa Park to lock up the district championship. Layne Owen powered the offense, going 2-for-3 with a two-run bomb and a double.
