Archer City underclassmen take lead for T&F

Lady Cats Much like volleyball, basketball, and softball, the underclassmen at Archer City will be the ones who will be a big reason for the success of the Track and Field team this season. “We have a bunch of young athletes who could do some things this season, but we’re just gonna have to wait and see week-to-week how they fare,” head girls’ track coach Krissa England said about the team’s makeup.
Lady Cat junior Serenity Jones will be one of the elder track athletes to lead a young Archer City bunch this season.

Wildcats sweep through Nocona Tourney

The Archer City Wildcats went 3-0 in the Nocona baseball tournament from Thursday, March 6 to Friday, March 7. Thursday, March 6 Archer City 4 Nocona 3 The teams sat tied 2-2 after two innings, the Wildcats took a one-run lead thanks to a two-run double from senior Isaac Dieguez in the top of the sixth, eventually holding on for the first victory of the tournament.

HISD cancels May Election

The Holliday ISD school board approved the cancellation of the called May 3 election during its meeting on Monday, March 3. Holliday ISD was slated to have a contested election for Place 5 as Amy Hughes and Vinnie Pagano applied to replace outgoing board member Dr.

Archer County teams play in Graham Softball Tournament

All three high softball teams in the county played in the Graham Softball Tournament from Thursday, March 6 to Friday, March 7. Despite the name, only the Holliday Lady Eagles played a solo game in Graham, with all other games being played at the Wichita Falls Softball Complex.

Eagles kick off district with Iowa Park split

The Holliday Eagles battled with the Iowa Park Hawks on Monday, March 10 and Tuesday, March 11. Under the shining sun while both schools are on Spring Break. After suffering a home loss, the Eagles got revenge and picked up their first district win of the season.
