The Archer City Cemetery Foundation sent out our annual fund raising letter on April 20, 2024 asking for help to maintain the cemetery which is maintained solely by donations. We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the following contributors for their generous donations.

On Tuesday, June 11, the University Interscholastic League Legislative Council passed a proposal to add an amendment for “split divisions in the postseason for volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball, and baseball.” This new setup follows the format used for the current 6A football playoff structure, where the four teams that make the playoffs are then separated into the two biggest and two smallest schools by their student enrollment numbers. After the regular season, of the four teams who make the playoffs, the two larger schools will move to the Division I playoff bracket and face other Division I opponents, while the two smaller schools will move to the Division II playoff bracket and face other Division II opponents.

The Windthorst ISD school board approved a donation from the parent teacher group to provide a facelift to the outdoor basketball/tennis court during its meeting on Monday, June 10. Parent Teacher Group Officer Hillary Wolf said the group had been working on this project for months and getting feedback from room parents on what the donation could be best used for.

It’s rodeo time once again in Archer County. The Archer County Rodeo Association will present the 79th Annual Archer County Rodeo and Ranch Rodeo Thursday, June 13, through Saturday, June 15, at the Archer County Rodeo Arena.
