Paxton Pepps of Holliday, and Ben Miller of Iowa Park, members of Holliday FFA; Whit Parkey of Archer City; Ava Dora of Iowa Park, members of Archer County 4-H, caught a calf during the 2024 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s Calf Scramble, earning a $500 purchase certificate for a show heifer and the chance for up to $16,000 in scholarship awards.

Archer City sputters in first half of district

The Archer City Wildcats journeyed to Nocona to take on an Indians team that was undefeated in district play on Friday, Jan. 26. The 1-3 Wildcats looked to wrap-up the first round of district opponents with a win and keep pace with the Petrolia Pirates, who sat in fourth place with a one game lead. The Wildcats battled to the end but couldn’t make up the deficit as the Indians coasted to a 56-39 victory.
