Holliday churned out nearly 400 yards on the ground, averaging 8.7 yards per carry in a 37-7 romp of previously 10th-ranked Idalou. The Eagles moved up to No. 2 in the DCTF/AP rankings following the win. Regional rival and postseason nemesis Gunter remains No. 1. “Some of the teams that are normally as good as anybody in the state are a little down,” Eagles head coach Frank Johnson said. “It’s been a rebuilding year for several teams we’ve got on our schedule. We didn’t know that when we scheduled them. I think we’ve got a chance to be good eventually. We’ve still got some work to do. I felt like we made strides tonight, especially with some of these backups.”

There’s a new phrase for that…. “They got Triggered”! There must be a kinder way to get through life.
