Texasville Opry at Royal Theater Saturday

The Texasville Opry will hit the stage of the Royal Theater this Saturday night, July 9 to feature the popular, “Classic Country Show." Gary Beesinger, Opry Producer stated that the show features performers singing the covers of classic country and western hits from the 60's through the 90's. This is the Opry's 22nd year of shows and a return to the stage after two years of Covid, was kicked off in March and it looks as though the show will keep trucking on.

Marchand leads Archer County News' Baseball Diamond Dozen

It was another tremendous season on the baseball diamond for Archer County. Archer City, Holliday and Windthorst all won district championships and advanced several rounds deep in the postseason. These kids deserve all the recognition they can get for all their hard work.
Holliday’s Peyton Marchand picked up ACN Diamond Dozen MVP honors after leading the Eagles with a .455 average to go along with five bombs, 31 RBI and 44 runs scored. File photo

Archer City continues ambulance service discussion

The Archer City council held discussions about the next steps necessary to address staffing and budget concerns for the Archer City Ambulance Service during its meeting Tuesday, June 21. Mayor Jake Truette had originally stated that he would like to see the old business agenda item to be placed back on the agenda come budget time.

ACMAC Rodeo Passport

The Archer County Museum and Arts Center held a children's passport event prior to the Archer County Rodeo Parade on Saturday, June 18. The passport included four activity stations. The first was leather making at the Dusty Cowby, another was a graham cracker covered wagon at the Archer County News, the third was copying a brand off Branded the horse in Walsh Park and the last was creating a paper cowboy at the Archer Public Library.
