Windthorst Mayor Greg Vieth declared the week of Dec. 11 as Trojan Week to celebrate and congratulate the Windthorst Trojans on advancing to the state championship game in Class 2A.
At the regional congressional debate competition on Nov. 4 in Burkburnett, Archer City ISD sophomore Emily Shephard won first place, sophomore Rebecca Taggart placed second and sophomore Candace Taggart finished fifth. Sophomore Ryan Wilson also competed.

The Texas General Store in Grapevine has been named the Best Decorated Store for Christmas in Grapevine for the 5th straight year. Store owner Jessica Cruz is the daughter of Jerry and Margaret Smith of Scotland, and the granddaughter of the late Frank and Pauline Vieth, longtime residents of Scotland.
