Last Sunday an early morning fire caused extensive damage to the home of Lynn and Nita Lewis at 513 E. Main St in Archer City. There were no injuries reported. An account to help the Lewis’s with expenses has been established at American National Bank. Anyone wishing to help with the recovery efforts should make contributions to this account. After recording their eighth-straight win on Saturday, Sept. 19, the Holliday Lady Eagles made their first appearance in the Texas Girls Coaches Association State Volleyball poll, coming in at No. 21 in the Class 3A rankings with an 11-3 record and a 4-0 mark in district play.

Windthorst remains unbeaten, dominates Seymour

The fourth-ranked Windthorst Trojans built a 35-0 first half lead and coasted to victory in a 42-0 rout of Seymour on the road on Friday, Sept. 18. The Trojans remain unbeaten while the defense continues to be a stalwart, allowing four touchdowns through the first four games.
