Mayor Jake Truette proclaimed Thursday, Oct. 5, as Archer City’s Teachers’ Day.

“Lord if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?” asked Peter the apostle. “Jesus answered, I say to you, not seven times but seventy seven times (Mt 18:21-22).” Jesus message is clear: God forgives incalculably, exceeding all measure. This is how God is; He acts out of love and gratuitously. We cannot repay Him but, when we forgive a brother or a sister, we imitate Him.

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court voted to recognize and proclaim Oct. 1 through Oct.

The Lakeside City Council approved the trade in of an old truck and the purchasing of a new truck for the public works department during its meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Judge Randy Jackson of Archer County has been elected as Vice-Chair of Nortex Regional Planning Commission for the next year. The Executive Committee of Nortex Regional Planning Commission elected Judge Jackson at its regular monthly Board meeting in September to serve in this capacity for the Commission.
