The annual Round Timber Reunion will be held at the Round Timber Cemetery on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the cemetery pavilion. The Round Timber Cemetery Association (RTCA) meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m.

ACISD Cheerleading Annual Two Man Scramble

The ACISD Cheerleading Annual Two Man Scramble was held at the Archer City Country Club on Friday, June 10. Seventeen teams participated, 46 holesponsors, 10 high school cheerleaders and eight junior high cheerleaders. Money from the event helps pay for camp, uniforms, camp wear, shoes and supplies for pep rallies and games. TOP: Jon Cowan and Frank Murray placed first at the two man scramble. Holliday ISD discusses Guardian Program

Holliday ISD Superintendent Cody Carroll provided an update on the district’s Guardian program during a school board meeting Monday, June 13, after the recent events in Uvalde. With the program in place, faculty at the school may be armed in order to prevent a school shooting.

Why should I go to church?

As a pastor, this is one of the questions I love to answer. Even before COVID people struggled with making it a consistent habit to go to church. Some of us wake up on Sunday morning still trying to decide whether or not we should get the kids ready for church or hit that snooze button one more time. Maybe we are asking ourselves the wrong question though. Maybe the question should be, why is it important that we go to church? If you have never understood why it is important to be plugged into a local church then I want to give you a couple of reasons of why being a part of a church is important for the believer.

The defendant, Stephen Joseph Parsons, alleged to have committed Murder, Felony 1, is currently in custody in the Archer County jail with Bond set at $1,000,000. Should a bonding company agree to post a bond for Parsons, his release will have some addi tional conditions to comply with.
