One arrested for murder after Holliday shooting

The Holliday Police Department and Archer County Sheriff’s Office arrested Stephen Joseph Parsons, 34, for the murder of Gary Kuykendall on Thursday, May 26. According to the arrest affidavit, the Holliday Police Department was dispatched to the 100 block of S.

Royal Theater ready for remainder of 2022 season

The coronavirus pandemic dealt a near death blow to the Royal Theater. Having the theater dark for close to two years has created a financial strain since utility bills and maintenance of the building still continues. The remainder of 2022 will hopefully bring some of the Royal’s shine back to the community.

Holliday ISD opens new band hall

Holliday ISD showed off its completed addition and renovation to its band hall during an open house event Tuesday, May 17. The 10,614 square foot addition and renovation were paid out of the general fund and the school board did not take out any debt for the district to fund the project.

Archer City Head Start graduates six

This was not just the scene at Wildcat Gym on Friday night but also at the Archer City Head Start program Thursday, May 19, as the program graduated six pre-k students onto the ‘big school’ of Kindergarten at Archer City ISD.
