City denies HISD fire code waiver

Body
The Holliday City Council unanimously denied a request from Holliday ISD to waive part of the fire code for the district’s new auditorium during its meeting on Monday, Oct. 20, citing safety and liability concerns.
With construction underway for the new auditorium at Holliday High School, the Holliday City Council denied a waiver request from the school district to only have one hose in the back of the stage as opposed to the required two due to a lack of water pressure needed to operate the system. Uncover a Literary Gem: Come to the Larry McMurtry Literary Center’s Book Sale

Body
Press Rlease During its heyday, Booked Up, Larry Mc-Murtry’s internationally renowned bookshop, had by some accounts between 500,000 and 700,000 rare and collectible books shelved inside four buildings around the Town Square. McMurtry’s quest was to turn his hometown into a book town modeled after Hay-on-Why, a Welch village where the streets are lined with bookstores and bibliophiles.
