Workforce Solutions North Texas will host a virtual job fair benefitting North Texas area employers and job seekers, Monday, March 29, through Friday, April 2, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Each day they will highlight a different industry.
Wolf Insurance Agency has announced they will be rewarding three $250.00 education scholarships to 2021 graduating high school seniors. To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant or applicant’s parent must have an insurance policy in force with Wolf Insurance Agency on April 1.
The Sheriff’s Office received 79 calls for service last week. As this report is being written there were 29 inmates with four being female in the Archer County Jail.
The annual City Wide Clean Up for the City of Archer City is scheduled for Monday, April 5, through Sunday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily with the exception of Sunday, April 11, when the hours will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The City of Archer City hosted an appreciation dinner for the Archer City Volunteer Department members and their spouses Sunday, March 21. At the dinner, Fireman Kyle Baldwin was named Fireman of the Year for 2020.
A high-speed chase involving an 18-wheeler started in Jack County and traveled through Young and Archer County before shots were fired and a multiple hour standoff occurred in Baylor County Friday, March 19.
The Archer County Commissioner’s Court approved fuel, oil and road base material bids for county use in the next year during its meeting Monday, March 22. The county received three bids from Haigood and Campbell, Kelly Propane and Fuel and Windthorst Fuel and Supply on oil and fuel.
The Archer City ISD school board voted to amend its mask mandate policy during its meeting Monday, March 23. The school board voted to amend its mask policy which will now recommend and not mandate the use of masks at school, on school buses and at school related events for students, visitors and staff effective March 23.
