Archer County first responders braved severe winter weather early Tuesday, Feb. 16, as they fought against a structure fire in the 300 S.

Archer County and the State of Texas experienced some serious winter weather starting Saturday, Feb. 13, which was expected to continue throughout the week.

The cities of Archer City, Holliday and Lakeside City will be having contested seats on the May 1 Uniform Election ballot after the deadline passed to apply for the ballot on Friday, Feb. 12.

Archer County Judge Randy Jackson reported Monday, Feb. 8, the county has seen very few new COVID-19 cases in the last week. The county will be included in the GA-29 mandate unless there are less than 30 cases in a two-week period.

The Holliday City Council took a major step toward keeping the momentum going at the Holliday City Park with the appointment of six members to the Park Board. The Park Board was created by City Ordinance in 2006, but had been somewhat inactive until the construction of the new park project.
