Archer Count y remains in mask mandate

Archer County Judge Randy Jackson reported on Monday, Jan. 4, the county will remain included in the GA-29 mandate including facial coverings which was issued by Governor Greg Abbott due to large positive COVID-19 case numbers in the county.

Archer County Sheriff Staci Williams Beesinger officially enters retirement

Archer County Sheriff Staci Beesinger will officially enter the world of retirement on Jan. 1, and she is ready to spend more time doing things she enjoys with her husband and grandchildren. A retirement party was held in her honor at the Archer County Sheriff's Office and Jail Thursday, Dec. 17.

Archer County Junior Livestock Show will continue with changes

The 53rd annual Archer County Junior Livestock Show promises to be equal to or better than past shows, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be some scheduling changes to help avoid packed in crowds in the show barn.

Archer County COVID-19 cases still rising at high rate

Archer County Judge Randy Jackson reported on Monday, Dec. 28, that the county has seen 100 case increase in total COVID-19 cases in a two-week time period and the county will remain unexempt from GA-29 including a facial covering mandate which was issued by Governor Greg Abbott.

Got pink ink?

We are aware that there was a printing problem in this week's special full-color, six-page section honoring the State Champion Windthorst Trojans. Two pages were printed with a pronounced pink tint. We are not sure how many of your newspapers look this way, but we know the issue has impacted several of them.

If you are a Windthorst Trojan, I am sure you are disappointed. If you paid money for an advertisement, I'm sure you are disappointed. We, too, are disappointed. Our staff worked hard to get this to you on a quick turnaround, and we are sad to see pink where blue should be.

Holliday MS wins District UIL meet

Holliday middle school took first place in its Academic UIL District Meet, competing against Henrietta, City View and Nocona. The Eagles won the meet with 1,381 points, over 400 points better than runner-up Henrietta (743) and more than 1,000 points better than City View (277) and Nocona (134).

ACN Coloring contest

Archer City ISD December board meeting update

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Archer City ISD is experiencing setbacks while striving to keep everything as normal as possible. It was reported at the meeting the Wildcat boys’ basketball team had been quarantined due to exposure to a positive case.
