Windthorst Trojans… State Champs!! One point victory! I would have loved to have been there. Those who were likely spent most of that game on the edge of their seats. Having played competitive sports I do know the crowd is a major factor. That energy spurs the players on to do extraordinary things. Just because you grew up in a small town does not mean you cannot accomplish great things.

Archer County Judge Randy Jackson reported on Tuesday, Dec. 22, that the county has seen another 100 case increase in total Covid-19 cases in just one week’s time and the county will remain unexempt from GA-29 including a facial covering mandate which was issued by Governor Greg Abbott.

As the old saying goes, ‘To be the best, you have to beat the best,’ and as Ethan Belcher trotted into high school football immortality on a two-point conversion with 26-seconds remaining, Windthorst did just that. The Trojans ended Mart’s quest for a four-peat in a 22-21 classic on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

The Texas General Store in Grapevine has been named the Best Decorated Store for Christmas in Grapevine for the 5th straight year. Store owner Jessica Cruz is the daughter of Jerry and Margaret Smith of Scotland, and the granddaughter of the late Frank and Pauline Vieth, longtime residents of Scotland.
