In years past during the holiday season the Archer County News has sponsored the “Socks for Seniors” drive and Beyond Faith Hospice, LLC has provided blankets for senior citizens. The residents at the nursing home were the primary beneficiaries of the seasonal socks and blankets.

The runoff election for the Texas Senate District 30 unexpired term of Pat Fallon will begin early voting on Dec. 9.

The Archer City Salvation Army is organizing an Angel Tree to serve children in need within Archer City. According to Salvation Army volunteer Jessica Deerinwater, Angels are available on the Archer City Salvation Army Facebook page or can be picked up at the Archer City First Baptist Church office from 8:30 a.m.

The Archer City ISD school board approved the elementary and junior high/ school campus improvement plans during its meeting Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Chelsea Kay Lindeman and William Terrell Smartt, III were married on the 23rd day of November 2019 at First United Methodist Church Wichita Falls Texas followed by a reception at the Wichita Falls Country Club.

Danny Barrett, Director of Texas Communities Group, was on hand at a council meeting held on Wednesday, Nov. 18, to provide information at a public hearing. TCG, LLC was hired by the City of Archer City to conduct code enforcement activities.

Archer County Judge Randy Jackson said during the Monday, Nov. 23, commissioner’s court meeting that the county will remain unexempt from GA-29 including a facial covering mandate which was issued by Governor Greg Abbott.
