County Approves Livestock Show Barn Expansion

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court approved the location of an expansion of the Archer County Junior Livestock Show Barn on Monday, April 13. ACJLS Board President Jason Austin presented the request to the court.

Holliday ISD Approves Changes for New Secondary School Cafeteria

The Holliday ISD school board approved a contract with Walker Quality Services to oversee the new secondary school cafeteria during its meeting on Monday, April 13. Superintendent Cody Carroll said the district is currently $75,000 over budget in its food service program, largely due to high spending on processed foods and low student participation at the middle and high school levels.

Windthorst ISD Discusses Senate Bill 546

The Windthorst ISD school board discussed the costs of retrofitting its bus fleet with three-point seatbelts during its meeting on Monday, April 13. Superintendent Jason Nolan said the discussion follows the passing of Senate Bill 546, which requires all school buses to be equipped with three-point seatbelts by Sept.
